The future of Roy Revivo, the star defender of Maccabi Tel Aviv, remains uncertain as the club and player navigate contract discussions. Despite interest from European clubs, Revivo is expected to stay with the Israeli cup holders this season unless a satisfactory offer arrives.
Maccabi Tel Aviv is considering extending Revivo's current contract, which expires in two years, with a significant salary increase from his current 150,000 euros per year. However, Revivo's camp has made it clear that he does not wish to extend beyond the existing agreement, as his primary goal remains to transfer to a European team.
Following a recent transfer saga involving Copenhagen, Revivo's situation has not changed, and he believes he can still integrate into a European club. His reluctance to extend the contract is partly strategic, anticipating that if he is not sold this summer, the club might accept a lower transfer fee next year to avoid losing him on a free transfer.
Meanwhile, Revivo continues to train and is expected to perform seriously for Maccabi Tel Aviv this season. His representatives emphasize that he separates his ambition to move abroad from his commitment to succeed with the club in the current campaign.
