IDF Launches Intense Strikes in Southern Lebanon After Hezbollah Border Violations

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) initiated targeted strikes in southern Lebanon following a severe breach of ceasefire agreements by the Lebanese army, which established unauthorized military checkpoints in the area controlled by Israel. This escalation prompted the IDF to issue an urgent evacuation warning to residents of the village of Al-Mansouri, marking the first such alert since the ceasefire took effect. The warning instructed civilians to move at least one kilometer north to open areas for their safety.

The Lebanese army's deployment of checkpoints within the designated security zone, where only the IDF is authorized to operate, is viewed by Israeli security officials as a blatant violation of the ceasefire terms and a direct threat to Israeli forces and civilians. The IDF's spokesperson emphasized that these actions cross a red line and will not be tolerated, signaling a firm stance against Hezbollah and unauthorized Lebanese military activities in the region.

Alongside the evacuation order, the IDF continues intensive operational activities in southern Lebanon, including the destruction of underground tunnels and weapons caches belonging to Hezbollah. Recent operations by the IDF's 91st Brigade and Kfir Brigade uncovered and eliminated extensive subterranean routes and stockpiles of rockets and launchers intended for attacks against Israeli targets.

These military actions follow months of efforts to neutralize threats from Hezbollah, during which over 1,200 terror infrastructures were dismantled, more than 600 weapons seized, and over 60 Hezbollah militants killed. The IDF stressed that it will persist in its mission to protect Israeli citizens and forces, warning that any further violations of the ceasefire will incur severe consequences.

The current developments underscore Israel's resolve to prevent Hezbollah from reestablishing terror infrastructure near its border and to maintain sovereignty over the security zone in southern Lebanon.
