IDF Launches Strikes in Southern Lebanon After Hezbollah Violates Ceasefire

On Wednesday afternoon, reports emerged from Lebanon about Israeli strikes in the village of Al-Mansouri near Tyre. Shortly after, an IDF spokesperson in Arabic issued an immediate evacuation order for the village, accusing Hezbollah of breaching the ceasefire agreement. The IDF confirmed it had launched targeted strikes in southern Lebanon in response to Hezbollah's violation, warning residents to evacuate their homes and move at least 1,000 meters north to open areas for their safety. The artillery and aerial attacks by the 91st Division targeted Hezbollah weapons depots and infrastructure south of the Blue Line, with the strikes expected to continue for several hours.

According to Lebanese sources, around 15 families remaining in Al-Mansouri left following the evacuation warning. Concurrently, another strike in Tebnine reportedly caused casualties. An Israeli military official stated that Al-Mansouri lies within the security zone controlled by the IDF, where ongoing military activity endangers Lebanese civilians, prompting the evacuation under the protection of the Lebanese army, which had set up a checkpoint contrary to agreements.

Residents in northern border areas were informed by the IDF's Northern Command that explosions would be heard but there was no change in the security situation or civil defense instructions. These developments coincided with ongoing negotiations in Rome between Israel and Lebanon, brokered by the United States, aiming to solidify a ceasefire and address issues such as pilot zones, tunnel demolitions, and village destructions in southern Lebanon. The U.S. State Department confirmed talks would continue through Thursday, emphasizing its commitment to supporting both governments in achieving lasting security and restoring Lebanese state authority in the south.

Earlier on Wednesday, the IDF reported that forces from Brigade 300 and the Engineering Unit destroyed a Hezbollah tunnel in the village of Sarbin in southern Lebanon, used for terrorist activities against Israel. In recent days, Kfir Brigade forces uncovered a Hezbollah weapons cache containing launchers and rockets, while Brigade 4 located dozens of weapons including Kalashnikov rifles and anti-tank rockets.
