IDF Launches Strikes in South Lebanon After Hezbollah Drone Attacks

On Thursday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conducted a series of airstrikes across southern Lebanon following an overnight attack by Hezbollah. During the night, Hezbollah launched two explosive drones targeting IDF forces operating near the Ali Taher ridge in the security zone of southern Lebanon. According to an IDF spokesperson, soldiers fired at the drones, successfully downing one, while contact was lost with the second. No IDF personnel were injured in the incident.

The IDF emphasized that it will not tolerate Hezbollah's attempts to harm its forces in the area. "The IDF is currently acting and will continue to act forcefully against repeated attempts to attack IDF troops," the spokesperson stated. Lebanese media reported multiple IDF strikes at several locations in southern Lebanon hours after the drone launches, describing them as retaliatory actions against Hezbollah violations.

The Ali Taher ridge has recently become a focal point of clashes between the IDF and Hezbollah. Earlier this month, the IDF reportedly took control of most of the ridge. In a separate incident in the area, three IDF soldiers were seriously wounded by an explosive drone launched by Hezbollah. Concurrently, the IDF continues operations targeting Hezbollah infrastructure in southern Lebanon, including weapons depots and missile launch sites, as part of ongoing efforts to maintain security in the region.
