Electric Company Workers Forced to Halt Repairs After Armed Masked Men Threaten Them in Negev

Electric company workers attempting to fix a power outage in the Negev town of Tel Sheva were forced to abandon their work after encountering armed masked men. The outage resulted from gunfire targeting a transformer around 2:45 a.m., which damaged the transformer and local power grid. Efforts to replace the transformer the previous night were unsuccessful due to the need for traffic arrangements and police escort, which were not provided.

When crews returned the following morning to complete the repairs, they were confronted at the neighborhood entrance by masked individuals carrying long firearms. Concerned for their safety, the workers ceased their activities and left the site. The electric company reported the incident to the police and emphasized that repair work will resume only when it can be conducted safely. The company condemned any threats or violence against its employees and highlighted the seriousness of the situation.
