Electric Company Workers Threatened by Armed Masked Men While Repairing Transformer in West Bank Village

Electric company workers were forced to halt repairs on a damaged transformer in the West Bank village of Tal Sheva after armed masked men threatened their safety. The transformer was shot and damaged around 2:45 a.m. on August 5, causing power outages in the area. Although crews arrived the previous evening to replace the transformer, the work could not proceed due to the need for police escort and traffic arrangements, which were not provided.

The workers returned the next morning to complete the repair but encountered armed masked individuals at the neighborhood entrance who approached them threateningly. Due to concerns for the workers' lives, the electric company stopped the repair efforts. The company condemned any threats or violence against its employees and filed a complaint with the police. The transformer remains unrepaired, and the power outage continues.
