Israeli Police Arrest Three Suspects in Shooting Incident Near Carmit and Threats Against Electric Company Workers

Israeli police arrested three suspects in connection with a shooting and brawl in the village of Lakia, which alarmed residents of the nearby community of Carmit. The incident prompted a coordinated response from officers of the Towns Police Station, the Border Police Southern Unit, and the Special Patrol Unit. During the operation, officers pursued a suspect who fired shots and fled on foot toward a nearby wadi, eventually apprehending him hiding in bushes. Two additional suspects in their 30s were also detained and taken for questioning.

Separately, on the previous Wednesday, police received reports of gunfire directed at an electric pole in the village of Tel Sheva. Shortly after, electric company workers arrived to repair the damage and restore power to residents. However, the suspects threatened the workers with gunfire to prevent the repair work, forcing them to abandon the site. Police launched an investigation and within hours arrested two suspects from Tel Sheva, aged in their 20s and 30s, suspected of involvement in the shooting and threats against the electric company employees. Both cases remain under investigation at the Towns Police Station.
