Lili Ben Ami Joins Avigdor Lieberman's Yisrael Beiteinu Party

Lili Ben Ami, founder of the Michal Sela Forum and a well-known activist in personal security and combating domestic violence, announced her official joining of the Yisrael Beiteinu party led by Avigdor Lieberman. The announcement was made on Wednesday, marking her transition from public activism to formal political engagement within the party ahead of its upcoming parliamentary and public activities.

Ben Ami expressed strong support for Lieberman, praising him as a strong leader with extensive experience, courage, innovative thinking, and proven execution skills. She emphasized their shared goal to strengthen Israel, aiming to make it a leader in security, innovation, education, and mutual responsibility.

Ben Ami is widely recognized for establishing and managing the Michal Sela Forum, an organization founded after the 2019 murder of her sister Michal Sela. The forum focuses on developing technological and social solutions to prevent domestic violence and enhance home security. Her public background also includes ten years as an elected official in the Mateh Yehuda Regional Council, founding the first daycare network at universities, and working with government ministries and third-sector and business entities.

This move follows a recent similar decision by Mor Dekel, a former political commentator on Channel 14, who also joined Yisrael Beiteinu. Dekel, previously chair of an early childhood association and a political advisor in Petah Tikva, aligned herself with the opposition bloc including figures like Gadi Eisenkot and Yair Golan. These developments indicate Yisrael Beiteinu's growing appeal among activists and public figures ahead of the 2026 elections.
