Lily Ben Ami Joins Yisrael Beiteinu, Supports Avigdor Lieberman

Lily Ben Ami, sister of Michal Sela who was murdered by her partner in 2019, announced her joining the Yisrael Beiteinu party and her support for Avigdor Lieberman on Wednesday. Ben Ami is an experienced manager and entrepreneur with over 20 years in personal security, innovation, and education. She founded the Michal Sela Forum, a national award-winning organization that provides assistance to thousands of families annually, develops advanced personal security technologies, and creates educational tools to prevent violence against women.

Following her sister's tragic death, Ben Ami dedicated herself to saving lives and developing hundreds of smart solutions to combat domestic violence. Under her leadership, security programs have prevented murder cases, and she collaborated with Knesset member Oded Forer to promote legislation stripping custody from parents convicted of murder, attempted murder, or rape within the family.

Ben Ami also served as a spokesperson during the Iron Swords war and spoke at the United Nations multiple times. She held public office for ten years, leading a municipal faction in the Mateh Yehuda Regional Council. Additionally, she founded and manages Israel's first network of daycare centers within universities, the Coalition for Direct Employment in Education, and the WIZO Jerusalem Leadership Center.

Her work has earned her numerous awards, including Forbes PowerWomen ranking, the Rappaport Prize, the Peace and Innovation Center's Knight's Medal, and other recognitions for her contributions to Israeli society. She holds a master's degree in education with honors from the Hebrew University, lives in Beit Zayit, is married with three sons, and her eldest son serves in the IDF. Her family also supports a lone combat soldier.
