Eight-day-old baby dies at Hadassah Mount Scopus after circumcision
A one-week-old baby died at Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital in Jerusalem after being brought there following a circumcision in one of the communities of the Mateh Binyamin Regional Council. The death was reported to police, and the circumstances are under investigation.
The baby’s body was sent to the National Institute of Forensic Medicine. Hadassah Mount Scopus said the infant, aged 8 days, arrived on Friday night without a pulse while Magen David Adom crews were already attempting resuscitation.
According to the hospital, emergency teams continued resuscitation efforts in the pediatric emergency department, but doctors were ultimately forced to declare him dead. The hospital said, “We share in the family’s grief.”
