Eight-Day-Old Infant Dies After Losing Consciousness at Event Hall in Mateh Binyamin
A tragedy unfolded last Friday when an eight-day-old baby was brought from an event hall in one of the communities of the Mateh Binyamin Regional Council without a pulse. Medics from Magen David Adom began resuscitation efforts at the scene and continued advanced life-saving treatment during the ambulance transfer to Jerusalem.
The infant was taken in critical condition to Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital in Jerusalem, where pediatric emergency staff kept trying to revive him. Despite the repeated efforts, doctors were forced to declare the baby dead.
Police were notified after the unusual incident and opened an investigation into the circumstances that led to the infant's condition. The report described the case as an extraordinary and shocking event involving a baby only days old arriving at the hospital in critical condition.
