Three-Month-Old Baby Dies in Beit Shemesh, Police Investigate Circumstances

A three-month-old infant was evacuated from her home in Beit Shemesh on Monday in critical condition and later pronounced dead at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem. The emergency call was received at 15:37 after the baby was found unconscious in a residential building. Magen David Adom paramedics performed advanced resuscitation efforts, including chest compressions and ventilation, before rushing her to the hospital where she was declared deceased.

Beit Shemesh police officers arrived at the scene and launched an investigation to determine the cause of death. Initial findings indicate the baby had been sleeping in the same bed as her sister. Police sources noted the apartment was in poor living conditions. Conflicting accounts emerged regarding which family members were present in the bed, with one official suggesting the infant likely suffocated under a blanket.
