Two-Month-Old Baby Found Unresponsive in Beit Shemesh, Condition Critical
A two-month-old infant in Beit Shemesh was found unresponsive in her apartment on Monday and was rushed to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem in critical condition. Emergency medical teams from Magen David Adom (MDA) arrived at the scene after the baby failed to wake from sleep and found her unconscious. Paramedic Rafael Tolidano reported that the infant had no pulse and was not breathing upon arrival, prompting advanced resuscitation efforts including chest compressions and ventilation before transporting her to the hospital.
Witnesses indicated that the infant's older sister may have been sleeping in the same bed and accidentally suffocated the baby. This incident follows a similar tragedy in Beit Shemesh about five months ago, when a nine-month-old baby died after choking on food at home. Despite resuscitation attempts at Shaare Zedek, the infant passed away.
