Three-Month-Old Infant Dies After Choking During Nap in Beit Shemesh
A tragic incident occurred in Beit Shemesh when a three-month-old infant lost consciousness during an afternoon nap at her home in the Ramat D neighborhood on Rabin Street. Emergency teams from Magen David Adom and United Hatzalah were called to the scene, where they performed prolonged resuscitation efforts before transporting her in critical condition to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem. Despite the medical team's efforts, the infant was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Paramedics Nati Ben Shimon, David Reichman, and Itamar Hershler described arriving to find the baby without pulse or breathing and immediately initiating advanced resuscitation including chest compressions and ventilation. United Hatzalah responders Moyshe Horvitz, Menachem Eichler, and Moyshe Siruka also participated in the intensive life-saving attempts. According to family members, the infant did not wake from her nap, prompting the emergency response.
The Israel Police arrived at the home following the emergency call and have opened an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the infant's death. They are currently collecting evidence to determine the cause. The case remains under active police inquiry.
