Israeli Forces Kill Palestinian Islamic Jihad Commander Holding Rom Breslavski Hostage

Israeli forces eliminated Mahmoud Fatair, a commander of the Nukhba unit in the Central Camps Brigade of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, who was involved in the October 7 attack and the captivity of Rom Breslavski. The targeted strike took place in the Deir al-Balah area. Fatair actively participated in holding Breslavski and was documented wearing the terrorist organization's uniform during hostage transfer ceremonies involving several captives, including Amit Shani, Ofir Engel, Moran Stella Yanai, Itay Regev, Liam Or Nasser, Raz Ben Ami, and other foreign nationals.

This operation was part of the sixth phase of Operation "Sky Gates," aimed at neutralizing threats posed by terrorist operatives. Recently, Fatair attempted to orchestrate terror attacks against Israeli forces and civilians, prompting his elimination to remove the imminent danger. Concurrently, Israeli forces under Southern Command remain deployed in the area to maintain security.
