Major Nighttime Closures on Ayalon Highway and Coastal Road Scheduled This Week for Fast Lanes Work

As part of ongoing construction on the "Fast Lanes" project, the Ayalon Highway (Route 20) and the Coastal Road (Route 2) in Israel will be completely closed during several nights this week. These works are managed by Netivei Ayalon and will include the installation of new signage.

On the night between Monday and Tuesday, August 3, from midnight to 5 a.m., the northbound Ayalon Highway will be closed between Rokach Interchange and KKL Interchange. Traffic will be diverted to exit at Rokach Interchange, while entry to Route 20 northbound from KKL Interchange will remain open.

The following night, between Tuesday and Wednesday, August 4, from midnight to 5 a.m., the southbound Coastal Road will be closed between Poleg Interchange and Wingate Interchange. Entry to Route 2 southbound from Poleg Interchange will be blocked, with traffic redirected via Route 553 and then Route 4.

Later in the week, on the night between Wednesday and Thursday, August 5, from midnight to 5 a.m., the southbound Coastal Road will be closed between Netanya Interchange and Gesher HaShalom Interchange in Netanya. Entry from Gesher HaShalom Interchange will remain open, but entry from Netanya Interchange will be blocked. Traffic will be diverted through Herzl Street and Ben Zvi Boulevard to Gesher HaShalom Interchange.

Public transportation routes will experience temporary schedule changes during these closures.
