Two-Week Traffic Disruptions Begin on Tel Aviv's KKL Bridge for Safety Repairs

Starting at 11:30 p.m. on Saturday night, significant traffic disruptions will commence on the KKL Bridge in Tel Aviv as part of a two-week safety and rehabilitation project. The initial phase, lasting until 6:00 a.m. on Friday, August 21, will see the complete closure of west-to-east lanes on the bridge. Drivers will also be unable to make a left turn from the southbound Ayalon Highway onto the KKL Bridge during this period. Despite these closures, the Ayalon Highway lanes will remain open, with normal access maintained from the KKL interchange to southbound Route 20 and right and left turns from Ayalon south and north respectively.

Pedestrians will still be able to cross safely via a designated northern section of the bridge. The maintenance work, overseen by the Ministry of Transportation and Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality through Netivei Ayalon company, includes replacing the bridge's expansion joints and will be coordinated with traffic inspectors and the Israeli Police. Motorists are advised to anticipate heavy congestion, seek alternative routes, and monitor updates through navigation apps like Waze.
