Israel Faces Peak of Intense Heatwave with Temperatures Up to 43°C

On Sunday, Israel is expected to experience the peak of a severe heatwave affecting the entire country. Temperatures will reach extreme highs, with Jerusalem and Tel Aviv hitting 34 degrees Celsius by midday, while northern and southern cities will see even higher temperatures: Katzrin and Tiberias at 41°C, Beit She'an at 42°C, and Eilat reaching 43°C. Starting Monday, a slight decrease in temperatures is anticipated, especially in mountainous and inland areas, although the weather will remain unusually hot and oppressive for the season. Coastal regions will continue to endure heavy to extreme heat conditions. Further relief is expected on Tuesday with additional temperature drops, yet the weather will still be warmer than typical for this time of year, particularly along the coastal plain. By Wednesday, temperatures are forecasted to return to average seasonal levels, although significant heat stress will persist across much of the country.
