Known Criminal Shot Dead and Another Injured in Netivot Shooting
A known criminal in his 40s was shot and killed on the evening of August 1 in the southern Israeli city of Netivot. Emergency Medical Services (MDA) teams arrived at the scene and performed resuscitation efforts on the victim, but he was pronounced dead at the location. A 29-year-old man was also wounded in the shooting, sustaining a penetrating leg injury. He was treated on-site and taken to the hospital in stable condition.
The Israel Police launched an investigation into the shooting incident. Police forces from the Netivot station began collecting evidence and conducting searches to locate the suspects involved. According to MDA paramedic Uriel Cohen, the victim was found unconscious without pulse or breathing, and despite advanced medical efforts, his injuries were fatal. The injured young man was found conscious nearby and received initial medical care before hospital transfer.
The police confirmed the shooting and injuries prior to the victim’s death being declared and are actively pursuing leads to apprehend those responsible. The motive and circumstances of the shooting remain under investigation.
