Known Criminal Shot Dead and Another Injured in Netivot Shooting
A man in his 40s, known to the police, was shot and killed on the evening of August 1 in the city of Netivot in southern Israel. Emergency medical teams arrived at the scene and performed resuscitation efforts on the victim but ultimately declared him dead at the location. A 29-year-old man was also lightly injured in the shooting, sustaining a penetrating wound to his leg, and was evacuated to the hospital for further treatment.
The Israel Police launched an investigation into the shooting incident. According to police statements, officers from the Netivot station began collecting evidence and conducting searches to locate the suspects involved. Paramedic Uriel Cohen described the scene, noting that the critically injured man was found unconscious without pulse or breathing, and despite advanced medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries. The younger injured man was found conscious nearby and received initial medical care before being transported to the hospital.
The police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting and are actively searching for those responsible.
