Police Arrest Suspect in Deadly Shooting in Netivot

Israeli police arrested a 40-year-old resident of Netivot overnight Sunday on suspicion of involvement in a fatal shooting that occurred the previous evening in the city. The incident left two men aged in their 20s and 30s injured, one critically. Medical teams pronounced the critically wounded man, approximately 30 years old, dead at the scene despite advanced resuscitation efforts.

Following the shooting, numerous police forces from the Negev region were dispatched to the scene to conduct an intensive investigation. They collected evidence and carried out intelligence and investigative operations to identify those involved. The Southern District Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Haim Bublil, assigned the investigation to the Central Unit of the Negev district.

The suspect is currently held for further questioning by the Negev Central Unit and is expected to be brought before the Beersheba Magistrate's Court later today for a detention extension hearing. Paramedics from Magen David Adom reported that the victim was found unconscious with a penetrating injury in a parking lot, and despite immediate medical intervention, he succumbed to his wounds.
