Man Critically Injured in Shooting in Netivot Amid Ongoing Family Dispute Investigation

A man in his 40s was critically wounded in a shooting incident on Saturday evening in Netivot. Emergency medical personnel found him unconscious and provided urgent treatment at the scene. The incident, which is believed to have a criminal background, also left another individual injured in the leg; this person was transported to Soroka Medical Center for further care. The shooting was reported to Magen David Adom's emergency center at 21:37 in the Negev region.

This event follows a recent related case from last Thursday, when Asa Arad was fatally shot in the Ein Ayala settlement within the Hof HaCarmel Regional Council. Asa's brother, Ohad Arad, has been arrested on suspicion of murder. Investigators from the Menashe District Police continue to probe the circumstances surrounding Asa's death, which was discovered by their mother who found him lifeless with severe injuries in his home. The brothers were involved in a dispute over rights to a family estate valued at millions of shekels, as well as a conflict over their recently deceased father's inheritance.
