Suspect Arrested for Throwing Bricks and Threatening Channel 12 News Staff in Tel Aviv

The police arrested a suspect on July 30 for throwing bricks at the Channel 12 news building in Tel Aviv and leaving threatening notes targeting the staff. Earlier this month, the glass doors of the Channel 12 newsroom were smashed for the second time, with a masked individual breaking the entrance door and placing a note warning that future attacks would be aimed at the staff's heads, stating, "Take this letter seriously because eventually someone will die."

These incidents are part of a broader wave of hostility against the media in Tel Aviv. This month, the entrance door of the Haaretz newspaper offices was also vandalized by a masked assailant who threw bricks and fled. In recent months, hateful graffiti targeting Channel 12 journalists appeared near their offices, including messages accusing them of betrayal and threats of violence.

In response to these attacks, Police Commissioner Danni Levi stated during a recent briefing that no harm would be allowed against any media outlet or journalists performing their duties. The police continue to investigate these acts of vandalism and threats amid growing tensions surrounding the media in Israel.
