Tel Aviv Police Arrest Suspect for Stone-Throwing and Threats at News 12 Offices

The Central Unit of the Tel Aviv Police District arrested a man in his 40s from Ramat Gan on Thursday for threatening and property damage at the News 12 offices in Tel Aviv. The suspect was taken in for questioning following an incident on Monday when police discovered broken glass at the entrance to the News 12 building on HaHaskala Boulevard, alongside a threatening letter directed at media personnel and public figures. This marked the second time in less than a month that the entrance glass of News 12 was damaged.

The investigation, conducted by the Tel Aviv District Crime Unit in cooperation with the Ayalon Traffic Police and the Shin Bet, revealed that the suspect had thrown stones at the building's entrance doors, causing property damage before fleeing the scene and leaving the threatening letter behind. A gag order initially imposed on the case was lifted upon the police announcement.

The suspect has a history of vandalism and related offenses. In November, he sprayed graffiti on Channel 13 and was indicted for spraying a black spray-painted message on the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court wall in February 2025, which read: "The house of lies, evil, corruption, immorality, prostitution, and adultery." In 2024, he was sentenced to 300 hours of community service for graffiti on the Kirya wall and faced additional assault charges causing injury.

Police stated that intensive investigative efforts led to the suspect's identification and arrest by Tel Aviv detectives. He remains in custody as the investigation continues.
