Tel Aviv Police Arrest Suspect in Stone-Throwing and Threat Letter at Channel 12 Offices

The Tel Aviv District Central Unit arrested a man in his 40s from Ramat Gan on Thursday, suspected of threatening media personnel and public figures, and damaging the entrance door of Channel 12's offices in Tel Aviv. The incident occurred on July 28, when police on routine patrol noticed the glass door at the entrance to the office building on HaHaskala Boulevard was damaged. Near the entrance, a threatening letter allegedly directed at media workers and public figures was found.

Investigations conducted by the Tel Aviv District Police, Ayalon Traffic Unit, and the Shin Bet revealed that the suspect threw stones at the entrance doors, fled the scene, and left behind the threatening letter. The suspect was located and arrested as part of the ongoing investigation and has been taken in for questioning. A gag order on the case was lifted upon the police announcement.

This is not the first attack on Channel 12's offices in Tel Aviv; in the past month, two incidents involved glass doors being smashed, including one where a masked individual was caught on camera throwing a brick at the entrance. Additionally, in recent months, hateful graffiti and threats against Channel 12 journalists have been sprayed near the newsroom. Police investigations into these events have been ongoing, leading to the recent arrest related to the latest incident.
