Truck Driver Dies in Fiery Crash on Highway 4 Near Rishon LeZion

A truck driver was killed in a collision with a private vehicle on Highway 4 near the Holot interchange close to Rishon LeZion during the night between Wednesday and Thursday. The truck overturned and caught fire after the private car stalled in the lane. Emergency medical teams arrived at the scene and confirmed the driver's death due to severe injuries sustained in the crash.

Paramedics from United Hatzalah and Magen David Adom described the scene as very severe, with the truck driver trapped inside the burning vehicle and showing no signs of life upon their arrival. Firefighters from the Rishon LeZion station extinguished the blaze and assisted in rescuing the driver, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The police have opened an investigation into the circumstances of the accident. The incident highlights the dangers of stalled vehicles on busy highways and the rapid escalation that can occur in collisions involving heavy trucks and passenger cars.
