Truck Driver Dies in Fiery Crash on Highway 4 Near Rishon Lezion
A truck driver was killed early Thursday morning in a collision with a private vehicle on Highway 4 near the Holot interchange close to Rishon Lezion. The crash occurred around 2:42 a.m. when the truck caught fire after the collision, trapping the driver inside. Paramedics found him with severe injuries and no signs of life, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Firefighters from Rishon Lezion extinguished the blaze and rescued the driver’s body.
Earlier that night, two serious motorcycle accidents occurred in central Israel. At 12:21 a.m., a 20-year-old motorcyclist was critically injured on Ben Gurion Boulevard in Netanya, suffering a head injury and unconsciousness; he was taken to Laniado Hospital in stable but serious condition. Around 12:38 a.m., a 30-year-old motorcyclist was hit by a bus on Yoseftal Street in Bat Yam, sustaining multiple injuries and was hospitalized at Ichilov Medical Center in serious but stable condition.
Additionally, a pedestrian in his 50s was fatally struck by a vehicle on Highway 4 near the Yavne interchange the previous day. Magen David Adom teams confirmed his death, and police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
