Pedestrian Killed in Vehicle Collision Near Yavne Interchange on Highway 4
A man in his 50s died after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 4 southbound near the Yavne interchange on Wednesday. Emergency medical teams from Magen David Adom and United Hatzalah performed prolonged resuscitation efforts at the scene, but the pedestrian succumbed to his severe injuries. The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries and was treated on site.
Paramedics described the incident as severe, noting the pedestrian suffered multiple traumatic injuries. Police have closed major traffic routes in the area, including the Mevo Ayalon interchange on Highway 20 southbound, redirecting traffic to Highway 431, and diverting Highway 4 southbound traffic at the Gan Raveh interchange to Highway 42. Traffic police are managing the scene and directing drivers.
Authorities urged motorists to use navigation apps, follow police instructions, and drive cautiously and patiently until the accident site is cleared and roads reopen.
