Pedestrian Killed in Car Accident on Highway 4 Near Yavne Interchange
A pedestrian in his 50s was fatally struck by a vehicle on Highway 4 southbound near the Yavne interchange on Wednesday. Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics arrived at the scene and performed resuscitation efforts, but the man was pronounced dead at the site. Paramedic Guy Barali and MDA motorcycle medic Roni Raviv described the incident as severe, noting the pedestrian suffered multiple traumatic injuries from the collision.
Following the accident, police implemented road closures and traffic diversions in the area. Traffic from the Mevo Ayalon interchange on Highway 20 southbound was redirected to Highway 431, while traffic from the Gan Raveh interchange on Highway 4 southbound was diverted to Highway 42. Officers from the National Traffic Police were present at the scene to manage the situation.
The incident caused significant disruptions to traffic flow in the region, with authorities advising motorists to follow the alternate routes. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident is ongoing.
