Truck Collides With Car, Overturns and Catches Fire on Highway 4; Driver Dies
Emergency teams from Rishon Lezion fire and rescue station responded overnight to a truck fire on Highway 4 southbound near the Holot interchange following a collision between a truck and a private vehicle. Upon arrival, firefighters began extinguishing the blaze and rescuing the truck driver, who was trapped inside. Medical teams pronounced the driver dead at the scene due to severe injuries sustained in the accident.
Firefighters managed to control the truck fire and completed final extinguishing efforts at the site. Paramedics from United Hatzalah, including Yehoshua Korkus, Israel Moshe, and Avrimi Itskovitz, reported that the truck driver was trapped and died from critical injuries caused by the crash and subsequent fire.
Magen David Adom (MDA) received the accident report at 02:42 and dispatched paramedics who confirmed the driver had no signs of life. Paramedic Anna Minis and emergency medical technicians Simcha Hasid and Orin Bersi described the scene as very difficult, noting the driver was trapped with severe trauma and was declared dead after medical assessment.
