Truck Overturns on Highway 1 Near Shaar HaGai, Injuring Several and Causing Traffic Delays
A truck overturned on Monday at the entrance to the Paz gas station near the Shaar HaGai interchange on Highway 1 heading toward Tel Aviv, colliding with four other vehicles. Emergency services, including four firefighting and rescue teams from the Beit Shemesh area, were dispatched following reports to the Jerusalem district emergency center.
Rescue teams extracted one trapped individual from a vehicle involved in the accident. This person was evacuated in serious condition. Additionally, paramedics from United Hatzalah provided initial medical treatment to another victim suffering from severe limb injuries, classified as moderate to serious, and two others with minor injuries. All injured were transported to hospitals for further care.
United Hatzalah medic Mordechai David Goldman, who arrived first at the scene, described providing initial aid to the moderately to seriously injured patient with severe limb trauma. The accident has caused traffic congestion in the area, and the gas station remains closed until the truck and damaged vehicles are cleared. Authorities continue efforts to manage the scene and restore normal traffic flow.
