Truck Overturns on Route 1 Near Sha'ar HaGai, Injuring Several Drivers
A serious accident occurred on Route 1 near the Sha'ar HaGai interchange and a nearby gas station around 13:42, when a truck overturned for unknown reasons and collided with several private vehicles. Emergency medical teams from Magen David Adom, United Hatzalah, and other rescue organizations quickly arrived at the scene to provide initial treatment to multiple injured individuals with varying degrees of injuries.
Among the injured, a 17-year-old female was evacuated to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in moderate to severe condition, suffering serious limb injuries. Additional casualties were transported with minor injuries. Mordechai David Goldman, a United Hatzalah medic who was first on the scene, reported providing initial aid to the moderately to severely injured victim. Another medic, Yitzhak Samama, confirmed assistance was given to two other lightly injured patients before their hospital transfer.
The accident caused significant traffic congestion in the area due to ongoing medical treatment and vehicle removal. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances that led to the truck overturning and the subsequent collision with other vehicles.
