Firefighters Find Deceased Man Trapped in Car During Rishon LeZion Blaze
Firefighters in Rishon LeZion responded to a serious fire that broke out in an underground parking lot of a residential building on Sunday evening. The blaze, which involved several vehicles, resulted in the death of an individual trapped inside one of the burning cars.
Crews from the Rishon LeZion regional fire station worked in heavy smoke to locate the victim. Residents of the building were instructed to shelter in their apartments due to the dense smoke. Despite rescue and firefighting efforts, medical personnel pronounced the individual dead at the scene after they were extricated from the vehicle.
The identity of the deceased is currently unknown and their body will be transferred to the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute for official identification. Firefighters also conducted searches of the parking lot and surrounding areas to ensure no one else was trapped and to prevent the fire from spreading.
Police forces from the Rishon LeZion station arrived and began collecting evidence to investigate the circumstances of the fire. At this stage, no criminal suspicion has been raised.
