The story · English

The Jerusalem Magistrate's Court held hearings to extend the detention of six suspects in the murder case of Benyahu Razi. Among those detained are Agam Tzarfati and Shilat Huta, suspected of involvement in planning the murder; Mazal Linor Sasson, alleged to have acted as an intermediary; and her son, Aviaor Sasson, considered the main suspect in carrying out the killing.

During the hearing, Aviaor Sasson stated he was on his way to surrender to the police when he was apprehended. He explained his presence in the northern region since the day of the murder by saying he went to the hills near Tiberias for solitude. The police presented evidence that Agam Tzarfati’s involvement had intensified, including video messages encouraging the perpetrators to commit the murder. Tzarfati reportedly urged the suspects and Mazal Linor Sasson, who allegedly mediated between them, to punish those who took their phones.

The court extended Tzarfati’s detention by one week, as well as Shilat Huta’s, who is suspected of planning and ordering the murder. Police said Huta warned a friend of Razi shortly before the murder to leave the apartment and later documented the killing. Her phone was reportedly covered in Razi’s blood, leading police to believe she was both an instigator and participant.

The police also seek to extend the detention of Aviaor Sasson, Mazal Linor Sasson, David Keren, and a minor suspect. Prosecutors must approve requests to hold the minors beyond 20 days. The police announced that with Aviaor Sasson’s arrest, all suspects in the case have been detained, closing the investigation circle. His arrest followed revelations that his brother exploited connections with a prison officer, who was also arrested and questioned, to aid him while serving a sentence.
