Israeli Police Capture Key Suspect in Benyahu Razi Murder Case in Jerusalem Taxi

Aviyur Sasson, a primary suspect in the murder of Benyahu Razi, was arrested on Tuesday after an extensive police pursuit. The Jerusalem District Central Unit employed all available resources to locate Sasson, who had been hiding in various locations across central and northern Israel during his escape. He was apprehended while traveling by taxi to Jerusalem, with officers stopping the vehicle and arresting him at the Harel Tunnel entrance to the city. Sasson was transferred to the Crime Fighting Unit of the Zion District for interrogation and will soon appear before a magistrate court judge for a detention extension hearing.

Earlier the same day, a significant development occurred in the investigation when a 34-year-old female Israel Prison Service officer from Hod Hasharon was detained on suspicion of obstructing the murder investigation and breach of trust. Intelligence indicated she maintained a personal relationship with a prisoner related to Sasson and allegedly assisted in hindering the investigation and aiding the fugitive suspect. She was taken for questioning at the Jerusalem District's Investigations and Intelligence Division, with further legal steps pending based on the findings.
