Prosecutor Files Charges Against Aviaor Sasson and Others in Benyahu Razi Murder Case

On August 4, 2026, a prosecutor's statement was filed at the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court against seven suspects involved in the murder of 19-year-old Benyahu Razi. The suspects include four minors and three adults. The central suspect is 17-year-old Aviaor Sasson, who was arrested near Jerusalem's entrance after evading police for about two and a half weeks. During the court session, Razi's mother, Dikla Razi, shouted "Murderer!" at Sasson, and family members also yelled at the other suspects, calling them "murderers" and demanding they lower their gaze in shame.

The murder occurred last month in an Airbnb apartment in the Nahalat neighborhood of Jerusalem, where Razi was fatally stabbed during a gathering. Investigations revealed that Agam Tzarfati, Razi's ex-girlfriend, summoned the group that attacked him. WhatsApp messages presented by police indicate premeditation, including a message between Tzarfati and Shilat Huta stating, "He dies today." Tzarfati and Huta allegedly tried to persuade Sasson's minor sister to take responsibility for the murder and incriminating messages, promising a reduced sentence due to her age, but she refused.

Additionally, a prison service officer was arrested on suspicion of obstructing the investigation and breach of trust. The officer reportedly maintained contact with Sasson's brother, who is serving a prison sentence for rape, and helped Sasson hide during his fugitive period by allowing her phone to be used.

Defense attorneys Idan Gamlieli and Ofer Erlich, representing one of the minors, expressed sorrow over the tragic event and stated that their client denies direct involvement in Razi's death.
