Massive Fire Erupts at Strauss and Tapogen Factories in Sderot Industrial Zone
Firefighters from the Southern District Fire and Rescue Services are battling a large fire that broke out simultaneously at two factories, Strauss and Tapogen, in the industrial area of Sderot. Thick smoke was seen rising from the site, prompting emergency crews to rush to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings.
So far, no injuries have been reported, but authorities are concerned about a potential leak of hazardous materials from the factories. The Sderot municipality has advised residents of the nearby Music Neighborhood to remain indoors and keep windows closed as a precautionary measure against possible toxic exposure.
Firefighters continue their efforts to control the fire and mitigate risks, with additional forces en route to the scene. The situation remains under close monitoring, and no further instructions have been issued at this time.
