Fire Breaks Out at Tepogen Factory in Sderot, No Hazardous Leak Confirmed

A fire erupted Monday morning at the Tepogen factory located in the industrial zone of Sderot, within the Sha'ar HaNegev Regional Council area. One firefighter and one civilian suffered minor smoke inhalation injuries. Initial reports from Israel Fire and Rescue Services indicated a possible ammonia leak from one of the factories, but this concern was later dismissed.

The fire involved two factories, with heavy smoke visible from a distance. Firefighters deployed 13 teams, supported by additional units from other districts, working to contain the blaze, prevent its spread, and protect nearby buildings. Authorities initially ordered evacuation of the industrial zone and the adjacent 'Mal 7' shopping center, while residents of Sderot's Music neighborhood were instructed to stay indoors and close windows.

Sderot municipality teams assisted emergency responders at the scene. Police forces isolated the area, conducted searches, and managed traffic to ensure public safety and facilitate emergency operations. The public was urged to avoid the area to prevent unnecessary risks and allow emergency personnel to work effectively.
