Netanyahu Bloc Gains Mandate as Gadi Eizenkot’s Party Loses Ground in New Poll

A recent poll published by Kan News shows the Likud party strengthening its position, rising to 22 mandates, while Gadi Eizenkot’s party, Yisrael!, loses one mandate, dropping to 21. Naftali Bennett’s party, Together, also declines by one mandate to 14. The Democrats party gains one mandate following recent primaries, now holding 10 seats. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s bloc increases its total by one mandate to 52, mainly at the expense of opposition parties. The Reservists party, led by Hili Tropper and Yoaz Hendel, crosses the electoral threshold again with four mandates for the second consecutive week.

The poll details the distribution of mandates as follows: Likud 22 (previously 21), Yisrael! 21 (22), Together 14 (15), Democrats 10 (9), Otzma Yehudit 9 (10), Yisrael Beiteinu 9 (9), Shas 8 (8), United Torah Judaism 8 (8), Hadash-Ta’al 5 (5), Ra’am 5 (5), and the Reservists 4 (4).

Regarding suitability for prime minister, Netanyahu and Eizenkot are nearly tied, with 39% and 38% public support respectively. Bennett trails with only 31% support. Nearly half the public (47%) believes Netanyahu is motivated by personal and political considerations in security matters. Additionally, 41% oppose Israeli involvement in a conflict with Iran. The public’s greatest security concerns are Iran and the West Bank, each at 34%, while only 6% fear Gaza. Among opposition voters, 40% think Bennett and Yair Lapid should not have united, compared to 34% who support their alliance.
