IDF Central Command Launches Extensive Operation in West Bank to Prevent Escalation

Major General Avi Blot, commander of the IDF Central Command, held discussions with West Bank settlement leaders following a stabbing attack near the village of Tal in the Samaria division. Blot conveyed condolences to the families affected and reviewed the security forces' preparations and planned operations in the Central Command area. He described recent days as tense, citing incidents including the burning of 30 homes, an arson attack in Beit Furik, and two stabbing attacks, one of which resulted in the killing of four terrorists on the scene, including the shooter. The stolen weapon was also recovered by the IDF.

Blot warned of the risk of further escalation across Judea and Samaria and announced ongoing offensive operations aimed at preventing the situation from worsening. He confirmed that additional arrests are planned and that forces are preparing for possible copycat attacks. To this end, reinforcements have been deployed, and the West Bank Division is set to conduct significant counterterrorism activities to apprehend all terrorists involved in the recent attack.

The commander emphasized the operational approach of the troops as determined, aggressive, and calm to prevent further incidents. He stressed the importance of restoring calm and ensuring the security of residents as a guiding principle for the upcoming extensive operation in the Central Command sector.
