Eyal Berkowitz summoned for police questioning under caution

Eyal Berkowitz was summoned for questioning by Israel Police after a confrontation with right-wing activist Mordechai David, as Gil Meshali reported today (Wednesday) in Mako. Berkowitz, now a media personality, chose to accelerate his vehicle while David was on the hood.

Berkowitz is expected to be questioned on suspicion of endangering human life on a transport route, while David will be questioned over several offenses, including blocking. The confrontation between the two was documented outside the offices of radio station 103FM, but at the end of the incident, the two were filmed smiling outside the car.

Berkowitz said that "David and his associates are a militia. I took David for a ride with Berkowitz on the trunk. I drove slowly, I did it in good spirits, but it could have ended in a disaster. A disaster could have happened."

Police spokespersons said, "Investigators from the Glilot police station in the Yarkon district summoned two involved parties for questioning following footage that was distributed on social media at the beginning of the week, in which suspicion arose of blocking a vehicle and reckless driving while endangering human life. One of the involved parties, a resident of Bnei Brak in his 20s, was questioned today under caution at the police station on suspicion of offenses of invasion of privacy, public nuisance and reckless behavior in a public place. At the end of his questioning, he was released under restrictive conditions and the investigation continues."
