Mobileye Founder Amnon Shashua Steps Down as CEO After 27 Years

Professor Amnon Shashua, founder of Mobileye, announced on Thursday that he is stepping down from his role as CEO after nearly three decades leading the company. Shashua described Mobileye as the "work of his life" and indicated that the company’s continued growth makes this the right time to establish a leadership structure suited for its next phase. He plans to support the board and management team during the transition and contribute in areas where he can have the most long-term impact.

According to reports, Shashua has been offered the position of chairman of Mobileye but is currently awaiting the appointment of a new CEO before making a decision. When asked about entering public life, Shashua responded negatively.

Mobileye’s chairman, Safra Catz, praised Shashua as a pioneering technology leader who shaped not only Mobileye but also the advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving industries. She highlighted his expertise in AI and robotics and thanked him for his ongoing commitment while emphasizing efforts to ensure a smooth leadership transition.
