Religious Zionism Party Holds Primaries with 10 Candidates for Knesset List
The Religious Zionism party has announced its final list of ten candidates competing in the upcoming primaries for the 26th Knesset elections. The internal party elections are scheduled for Sunday, the 12th of Av. The candidate list, published alphabetically, includes current Knesset members Michal Waldiger, Ohad Tal, Tzvi Sukkot, and Simcha Rothman, alongside Minister of Settlement and National Heritage Orit Strook.
Other notable candidates are Omer Rahamim, CEO of the Yesha Council; Tzvika Vishnegrad, a lawyer and deputy mayor of Petah Tikva; and Natan Zauberman, CEO of the Tikva program for young French immigrants and a startup entrepreneur. The list also features Rabbi Shmuel Sasson, head of the Hader nucleus in Haifa, and attorney Eitan Tam, deputy mayor of Rosh HaAyin.
These primaries come at a sensitive time politically, as recent polls show the Religious Zionism party, led by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, hovering between four and five Knesset seats. A recent Midgam poll placed the party at just four seats, highlighting the competitive and uncertain political landscape ahead of the elections.
