A 17-year-old boy was killed in a deadly traffic accident overnight between Sunday and Monday near the Kiryat Gat interchange on Highway 6 northbound. The crash involved a truck and two private vehicles, with drivers trapped inside the cars. Emergency medical teams from Magen David Adom (MDA) performed advanced resuscitation efforts on the teenager at the scene but were forced to declare him dead. Another victim, a 27-year-old man, sustained moderate injuries and was evacuated to Kaplan Medical Center in Rehovot for further treatment.
The accident was reported to MDA shortly before midnight, prompting dispatch of paramedics and rescue teams who found the victims trapped inside the vehicles. Paramedics Roee Chazi, Meir Avivi, and Gilad Hajbi provided medical care during the extrication process. Despite their efforts, the teenager could not be saved. The 27-year-old man suffered limb injuries and received initial treatment at the scene before hospital transfer.
The Israel Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the fatal collision. Officers from the Kiryat Gat station and traffic accident investigators from the Lachish district arrived at the scene to collect evidence and manage traffic flow following the incident.
