Israeli Police Officer Charged with Sexual Harassment and Extortion Using Fake Identities

The Police Investigations Department filed charges on Monday against a police officer from the Yarkon Traffic Division for multiple offenses including sexual harassment, indecent acts, extortion, privacy violations, impersonation, fraud, and breach of trust. The indictment alleges that over several years, the officer abused his access to police databases to unlawfully obtain personal information about women and their family members.

According to the indictment, the officer created fake social media profiles, sometimes using the names and photos of other women, to contact victims. He repeatedly made sexual advances, sent pornographic content to the women and their families, and threatened to damage their privacy and reputations. In some cases, he used intimate photos and videos he had obtained to coerce victims into complying with his sexual or financial demands. One victim reportedly sent him explicit videos under duress.

The indictment details that the officer accessed police information systems without work-related reasons to collect and store personal photos of the women on his devices. He also sent pornographic videos to victims' family members, falsely claiming the women depicted were the complainants. The officer continued to harass women with degrading sexual messages even after they rejected him and threatened to report him to the police.

In total, the indictment lists 15 separate incidents where the officer exploited his position and police privileges to commit a series of crimes against women and their families. The case highlights serious breaches of trust and abuse of authority within the police force.
