Israeli Police Officer Charged with Sexual Harassment and Blackmail Using Fake Online Profiles
The Police Investigations Department filed charges against Samer Sheikh, a traffic division officer, at the Haifa District Court for offenses against women, including sexual harassment and blackmail. According to the indictment, Sheikh created fake social media accounts using the names and photos of other women. He sent sexual propositions and pornographic videos to women in online conversations, threatened to distribute their intimate content, and exploited his police position and access to police databases to obtain personal information about them over several years.
