90-Year-Old Man Detained After Vehicle Hits Teen and Settler in Gush Etzion

A 90-year-old Israeli man was detained on Friday following an incident near Gush Etzion junction where he allegedly struck a teenage boy and a female settler with his vehicle. The event occurred at Havat Tomer, close to the junction. According to police, the man initially arrived at the site and began filming the scene. A verbal dispute then erupted between him and a local teenage resident. The suspect entered his car and lightly hit the teenager while driving, though the boy did not require medical treatment.

Subsequently, a female settler approached the vehicle to question the driver’s actions. The suspect continued driving and struck her as well, dragging her several meters while she held onto the car. She sustained minor injuries. Police from the Etzion station in the Shai district responded to reports of the incident and detained the driver for investigation. His vehicle was also seized as part of the inquiry.

Authorities emphasized that the investigation is in its early stages and the full circumstances remain under review. No further details about the woman’s injuries or medical care have been released, nor has a decision been made regarding the suspect’s arrest status.
