Pregnant Woman Dies in Head-On Crash in Ashdod, Baby Delivered in Emergency Surgery

A tragic accident occurred on Wednesday in Ashdod when a young pregnant woman was fatally injured in a head-on collision on Derech Leskov. Emergency teams arrived at the scene, which involved two vehicles with severe front-end damage. The woman, approximately 30 years old, was found with multiple serious injuries and was unconscious. Four other individuals sustained minor injuries and were able to walk at the scene.

The woman was rushed in critical condition to Assuta Ashdod Hospital, where trauma, emergency, maternity, and neonatal teams worked urgently to save her and her unborn child. As her condition worsened, doctors performed an emergency cesarean section, successfully delivering the premature baby girl, who was immediately transferred to the neonatal intensive care unit in critical condition.

Despite prolonged medical efforts, the mother’s death was confirmed. Hospital representatives expressed deep condolences to the family. The Israel Police have launched an investigation into the fatal crash near Ashdod Port, with officers and accident investigators examining the circumstances. The four other injured individuals were treated at Assuta Hospital. This incident adds to a recent series of serious road accidents in Ashdod resulting in fatalities.
