Former Hamas Captive Sasha Tropnov Marries Fellow Hostage Sapir Cohen in Emotional Ceremony

Sasha Tropnov, who was held captive by Hamas for 498 days, married Sapir Cohen, also a former hostage released in the first prisoner exchange deal, in a heartfelt ceremony. Sasha's mother, Yelena Tropnov, expressed her joy and relief in an interview on Kan News, describing the event as a dream come true after years of prayer and hardship. She recalled a poignant moment during captivity when a fellow captive child, Emilia Aloni, secretly drew a painting of Sasha and Sapir's wedding, which Yelena managed to hide despite strict prohibitions, holding onto it as a symbol of hope.

Yelena also shared her painful decision not to visit the grave of her late husband, Vitaly Tropnov, who was killed on October 7, until Sasha returned home. She explained that she wanted to visit the grave with her son and not alone. After Sasha's return, they visited Vitaly's grave together to share news of the upcoming wedding, feeling his presence in spirit.

Regarding Sasha's transformation after his long captivity, Yelena said he returned as a more sensitive and faithful person, having spent most of his imprisonment in isolation. Sasha used the time to reflect deeply on life and personal growth. The newlyweds are now focused on building their home and planning their future, with hopes of starting a family and growing together.
