Dor Peretz is close to finalizing a new contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv after a saga that has followed the club since the start of the summer. If the talks do turn into a signing, the captain will be able to return immediately to team training.
Peretz’s base salary in the new deal is set at 500,000 euros per season, which would make him the highest-paid player in the Israeli Premier League. The figure is lower than the 550,000 euros he earned last season, but the contract includes several performance-related clauses that could push his total income above that amount.
One clause gives him a bonus of 70,000 to 80,000 euros if he appears in a certain number of matches. He is also due bonuses for helping the club reach the European group stage, win the league title, and win the State Cup.
